COVID-19 Update

As all families would be aware, yesterday we had to do a sweep of the school (P-6 last night, Kinder tonight) because of our increasing COVID-19 cases. Thank you for your support in enabling us to follow the requirements to keep everyone safe. We have noticed an increase in cases over the last few weeks.

Please ensure you contact the school and let us know if your child tests positive as there are requirements we have to follow. We have had high numbers of absenteeism, around 40 students a day last week and increasing to 70 a day this week, as well as high staff absences so it has been a difficult time. All schools are currently facing these same problems and I would like to thank and recognise the staff for all their hard work during a very challenging term.

Please continue to follow our COVID safety guidelines as sent home. Do not send children to school if they are unwell.

The Tasmanian Catholic Education Office has supplied the school with a limited number of Rapid Antigen Tests (RATs) for student use as per the following schedule:

• When a replacement test is required due to the usage of a supplied test by a student who has cold, flu or COVID-19 symptoms. This excludes elimination testing for known conditions such as hay fever or asthma.

• When replacement tests are required due to the usage of supplied tests by a student who is a confirmed close contact (definition of confirmed close contact here)

Rapid Antigen Tests required outside of the above schedule can be sought for free from Public Health or purchased from most chemist outlets. PCR testing is still available for free. Please call the Public Health Hotline on 1800 671 738 or register online to book a PCR test.
